Benevolence Ministry
Proverbs 28 tells us “Whoever gives to the poor will not want, but he who hides his eyes will get many a curse.”
God delights in his benevolent nature. He is kind, gracious, generous, patient and loving. He is unrelenting in his care for us, and we are called to do the same with others.
Scriptures provide numerous examples of the church providing relief to individuals. These cover a spectrum of needs: medical, shelter, helps, and finances. God’s people have always been proactive in the work of mercy, and so it is desirable to organize our works and resources to this end.
The purpose of our Benevolence Ministry is to reflect the generous heart of God. It is conducted with joy, not under compulsion, motivated by thankfulness to God for his generosity to us. We seek to draw people closer to Christ and to help them take their next step with Jesus by helping to meet their basic needs in times of financial crisis, health issues or transition. Our ministry offers financial support as well as opportunities
for growth through classes, counseling, and support groups.
This ministry complements the broader ministry of our church. We want to see those who come to us through benevolence ministry, connected into our wonderful community of believers.
