Child Care Center & Preschool
The Child Care Center (CCC) is a ministry of the Lake of the Woods Church and located in the lower level of the church facility. The CCC includes a morning preschool program for children ages three to six with extended day options. Our preschool curriculum is built upon bible stories and songs, seasonal/thematic themes, and developmentally appropriate milestones. Before & after school care for children in kindergarten through 5th grade at Locust Grove Primary/Elementary Schools is also offered. Bus transportation is provided through the public schools at parents’ request.
The CCC operates Monday – Friday from 7 am to 6 pm except for certain scheduled holidays. The CCC calendar aligns with Orange County Public Schools for major recesses, holidays, and weather closures. Summer Camps are offered in June and July for both age groups.
The CCC is maintained in accordance with the Standards for Licensed Child Day Centers, Department of Education, Commonwealth of Virginia. The Child Care Center accepts children of any race, color, or national origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities available to students attending the CCC. The CCC staff has training in First Aid/CPR, early childhood education, and ongoing annual training.
