Youth Ministry Coordinator
Part-time, non-exempt lay position
To coordinate, under the direction of the Youth Director, student ministry
activities of the church.
Live as a committed disciple of Jesus Christ
Reputation for exhibiting a positive, Christ-like role model for youth
Ability to communicate with youth and their parents/guardians in a creative,
positive, patient manner
Ability to work with volunteers who are involved in student ministry activities,
both in leading them and encouraging a team atmosphere among them as a whole
Knowledge of the church policies and procedures, particularly as those apply to
student ministry and emergencies
Ability to organize and help facilitate projects as assigned by the Youth Director
Regularly participate in Higher Grounds Worship Experience
Produce the weekly communications to students, monthly Parent-link, and on-
going communications to student ministry with website, Facebook and emails.
Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining weekly attendance records and
follow-up with new guests, filling out and submitting vouchers and overall record
keeping of credit card and purchases, managing the deposit box
Serve as administrative liaison between Youth Director and Church Office
Manage special projects including organizing action steps, recruiting volunteers,
assigning tasks and bringing projects to completion
Be available for retreats, lock-ins and events
Attend staff meetings and training, and weekly meeting with the Youth Director
Handle other assignments in the student ministry as requested
The Youth Ministry Coordinator is supervised by the Youth Director through set
guidelines and regular meetings.
This Position Description (PD) may be revised and updated from time to time as mutually
agreed upon by the incumbent, Youth Director, Associate Pastor of Young Families and
Youth, and the Board of Elders. Changes to this PD may affect the incumbent’s
employment agreement, which may need to be revised accordingly.
