Bluegrass concert

The Lake of the Woods Church monthly Concert Series will welcome our very talented friends in Sonrise, coming back by popular demand.

The concert will be at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 5 in the Worship Center.

Sonrise is the Bluegrass Gospel group from Fredericksburg, Virginia, impressing audiences with their instrumental expertise and three-part or quartet harmonies. For over 25 years, they have played at numerous prestigious events throughout the Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and Pennsylvania areas. Although Sonrise loves to perform some of the older traditional gospel songs, most of their material is original, coming from deep within their hearts.

They have traveled a long road, always trusting in their Lord and Savior to keep them in His will. They enjoy each other’s company and fellowship as much as they enjoy performing and offering testimony on stage. The group’s sole objective is to be used by Christ as an avenue to win souls to the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

An evening with Sonrise will entertain you, make you laugh and cause you to weep with joy, but more than anything, challenge you to either become a child of God, or desire to walk closer to Him. Ralph Sellers leads the group on Mandolin, joined by Victor Jordan and his guitar and Eddie Haynes on Bass. Their fantastic banjo player, Larry Jett, has previously played for several bands including the well-known Larry Stevenson band. Cookie reception to follow concert.
