The Making Joyful Noise concert series will bring a concert of songs about love, both Christian and secular, on Feb. 16 to celebrate St. Valentine’s Day.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m., but come early and enjoy a fundraising dinner hosted by the Girl Scouts in Friendship Hall from 5 to 6:45 p.m.
When we think of Valengine’s Day, we generally think of the ones we love. As Christians, when we think of love, we often think of our God, our family and our close friends. Kathy Pellegreen will lead off our concert with special lvoe songs played on our wonderful Steinway piano. Rose Tuminaro, with her distrinctive style on Steinway, will follow, leading the audience in a sing-along of hymns celebrating our love of God and His love for us. Finally, Irene Robinson and the Lakers will wrap up the concert with love songs from the past, including “Love Me Tneder,” “I Love Those Dear Hearts and Gentle People,” “Hello Mary Lou, Goodbye Heart,” and “Elvira.”
Girl Scout 804 will decorate the Friendship Hall and serve a ham dinner from 5-7 p.m. that evening. Girl Scout cookies will be for sale at $4 per box.
The evening will close with a “Cookie concerto Reception to meet and greet the pianists and singers.
